Brooklyn-born, Queens-raised, Harlem grown, Bronx cross-pollinated
Author, Curator, Creative
Starasia Wright, affectionately known as Sunshine, is a Brooklyn-born, Queens-raised, Harlem-grown, and Bronx-cross-pollinated multidisciplinary artist, author, and curator.
With storytelling at the root of her artistry, Starasia brings her books to life through literary-inspired fashion design and immersive events. Her debut book, Space for Love, an illustrated poetry collection exploring the theme of remaining open to love through ancestral wisdom, art, and community, materialized into a literary dinner party where 10 guests enjoyed live poetry reading of Space for Love by the author over a 5-course feast, including wine and beverage pairings to complement the poems.
Space for Love: A Literary Dinner Party marked the first event in a developing series designed to deepen connection through storytelling, intentionality, and artful nourishment. Space for Love is also evolving into a fashion design collection of wearable art inspired by the poetic and esoteric themes.
Residing in Bed-Stuy, Starasia finds solace and inspiration in the vibrancy of her hometown, drawing from its fulfilling cultural heritage and nostalgic charm to fuel her creative endeavors.
